We had a wonderful time spending quality time together, just the three of us. We laughed, cried, and ate... a lot! Sorry for the photo overload but I wanted to share our trip with all of you! Make sure you check out all the posts. Too much to post at once!
We were lucky enough to be able to stay in Uncle Holland's apartment in Manhattan which was perfect! We were right in Midtown and a short cab ride or walk from everything! Thanks Uncle Holland!
We arrived on Wednesday after an early morning flight and met up with Adrianne who flew in from Charleston. We took a cab to the apartment to drop off our luggage.
After dropping off our luggage, we went to the WTC Memorial. It was AMAZING! Such a beautiful tribute to those who's lives were taken on 9/11. Unfortunately, the museum wasn't open yet so we could only walk around the pools and see the new building going up. It was quiet and peaceful amidst all the chaos of the city.
| One of the reflecting pools with the new museum building in the background. Peeking inside, we saw some beams that were from the original towers. |
| The "Survivor Tree". This tree was removed from the WTC site after 9/11 and nursed back to health in a park. They replanted it at the original site in honor of the victims of 9/11. |
